Snarky, sassy, smart.

Those three words are the tagline for Wordbitches, a fantastic blog on which three snarky, sassy, smart women share their thoughts on all things writing. It’s also where you can find my post today in my first ever guest blogger spot. I’m excited that I can make my debut in the midst of these dedicated and talented women.

So join me over there today, and don’t forget to take a walk through all the other great stuff Leanne, Elena, and Trish offer on Wordbitches. I’ll be back here on Wednesday for the final item in my Bêtes Noires countdown.

Finally, just a word of thanks to everyone who left such great comments and compliments on my Freshly Pressed post of last week. It was a thrill to experience that for a second time, and I loved hearing all of your language learning experiences. I now get the even better prize of having more great blogs to explore and enjoy!

  1. Hi Leo – Finally a chance to comment on your excellent Wordbitches post. You described the transformation of your writing experience at night so brilliantly. I am not a night owl at all. I’m 100% a morning person and almost always write in the morning, which is why – working a full time job – I pretty much only post (and comment, apparently) on the weekends. It’s funny how different people can be, but it seems you are in much more common company being a night owl.

I’m married to an unashamed night owl. He often goes to bed between 4 and 5 am. On weekdays I get up for work at 5:20. Somehow we’ve lapsed into a schedule where our waking hours generally overlap only for about a third of each day!

    • Thanks Keenie! :)

Waking up at 5:20 in the morning would be about as painful as getting a root canal with no novocaine! I hate teaching 9am classes because it means I have to leave my house between 7:30-7:45 to account for traffic (a 40-minute commute can take twice that time and it’s completely unpredictable). Because I’m pretty slow in the morning, this means I have to wake up at 6:00. Oh how I hate it! I much rather get in later and leave later.

It must be tricky to be a morning person married to a night owl. My boyfriend is a night person, although not as bad as I am, but it makes things easier, as does the fact that he likes cats too. Hey, that’s another reason I have to write: :)
